SHARING WHY I CHOOSE PUBLIC GOLD (PART 21 TO PART 25)

Part 21...

For someone as frugal and enterprising as mom, making her savings worthwhile by changing part of her savings into gold in the GAP account is a bonus!

Every 2-3 days, she would pluck midin shoots or pick her limes or harvest her cangkuk manis to sell at Tamu Bandar Riyal. Whatever she gets from these, she would add up to her GAP account as she dares not keep it in physical gold.

If mom could do it, we could too! In big or small ways, find a reason or a method to save in gold.

Today I got 2 good news personally! πŸ˜€πŸ™ Thank God for His blessings!
Firstly, I had just received the letter of Kenaikan Pangkat ke DG48 backdated to August 2017.
Secondly, 3 more people opted to start their gold savings due to the price dip to RM177! Good job, Sandra Hidi!!
Yes, I am happy for the expected arrears and pay rise. But, even happier that more people are aware of how to protect their paper (money) savings in the form of gold! πŸ˜ƒ I believe whatever that can bring mutual benefits should be shared.
Guess where the arrears would go after this?! πŸ˜‰

Finally, it's here. Thanks to Hafizul Hakim for suggesting. πŸ™Œ

This morning I was sharing my retirement plans with those who had opened their GAP accounts under me. I hope that my honest sharing would help them (most are younger than me) start planning too. I also shared my projected gold savings in gram and RM, with the monthly gold price at a reasonably steady rise (hoping for it to be bullish by year end πŸ˜‚).

I am not rich but I am willing to share what I have learned (bad experience is the best lesson). I told them to start small, do it at your own capability. As long as you START! Once you have started savings in gold, you would regret all those previous thoughtless purchases and think about the value in grams of gold! And you would start finding ways to cut spending and increase your side income.

By the way, I have secured an order for kuih cincin from Sabah which will be sold at RM6 per pack of 16 pieces. I will update you soon!

Lately, I got a lot of input from the 10 ebook combo from #AzizulAzli on maximizing our cash flow and savings and reducing financial burden. One way to do it is consolidating personal loans (combining 2 or more personal loans under 1 bank with a lower rate).  I found out I could save RM400! That can go to my monthly #PublicGoldGAP account!
How do you consolidate your personal loans?
1. Get your ccris report from BNM. If you have never done it before, go to BNM. The staff will help you to register and print your ccris report in less than 5 minutes! Just bring your IC and one of your thumbsπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚!
2. Google which bank offers the best interest and choose 2. Contact the nearest branch to get the payment schedule for debt consolidation (penyatuan hutang).
3. At the same time, get flow of procedure  from both banks and choose one that suits your needs. Eg: Sometimes, the bank offers lower rate and off the payslip but demands numerous documents as references. Another bank has slightly higher rate and on payslip but minimal documentation.
All the best to a lighter steps ahead in life!

Last night, I attended a FREE seminar organized by Public Gold at the Kuching branch. Every branch organizes at least 2 such seminar monthly in all over Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.

As a dealer, the content delivered sounds familiar (encountered through my readings) but the chance of exchanging ideas directly gives more effect to the previous lessons learned. Sharing of personal experiences by the speaker... trying to save in gold form either through scams or legit institutions but with added hidden charges gives us the insight that...

MANY people out there are looking for ways to PROTECT their SAVINGS but don't know how.

Search no more. Public Gold is the SAFEST, EASIEST and CHEAPEST way! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™‹

Part 11...

Financial education is not explicitly taught in schools. Our parents don't have the knowledge and impart hearsays to us. It is learned through our mistakes (sooner made, sooner learned..in my case πŸ˜‚).

Even among our own friends, money manangement has the same status as sex education. Those who know may not be willing to share what they know. Not many are like Hafizul Hakim who shares openly about this in the social media. I have never met him but I have learned a lot from what he has shared. He is way younger than me but in the case of financial education, I am NOT "wiser" just because of my age.

Learning is a lifetime venture. Taking this financial education into your own hands is your first step towards a better retirement life.

RM100 is 0.5168 grams of 999.9 (24 karat) gold. This is the lowest you can set aside either monthly or intermittently according to your own best needs. Gold does not rot if kept for long..instead the value increases with time.
Compare with this..πŸ‘‡
RM3.80 kolo mee x 5 days x 4 to 5 weeks = RM76 to RM95. Kolo mee disappears after 10 to 15 minutes.
Never underestimate someone's ability to save just because his/her wage is smaller than yours.πŸ˜ƒ

Since I started sharing about Public Gold products, several individuals have inquired further. I shared some reading materials which were shared by Hafizul Hakim for his mentees. A few actually braved it out and opened their GAP accounts and their kids'.πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Frankly, I don't lose if nobody signs up. But at least, they get to read and start thinking about the importance of gold savings. And to tell you the truth, not every dealer gets a mentor as selfless as him! Those who don't, have to attend weekly lessons to get the additional information and guidance. 😐

So, if you want to get maximum input to produce maximum output, keep in touch. πŸ˜‰

With the gold price going down the past few days, many should be considering buying. According to the trend, after a short plunge...it would later show a steady upward trend.

For me, it is better to START buying ANYTIME. Once you have made that first deposit, you would be actively (and creatively, right Sandra Hidi?) thinking about how to top up while monitoring the price daily!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The way my husband and I look at life are totally different. I never aimed to be rich (still don't). I am contented with enough. Whatever extra I get, I spend on other people (no need to mention who or where).
And I am ok with getting whatever I would get from my pension later as long as the kids are done with schooling and have started working.😎
My husband had earlier on in our marriage told me that he aimed to retire at 45 with a sizeable retirement fund to sustain him (he is in the private sector). When we came out of the operation theatre after my csection and BTL, I teased him gently..."Looks like you have to postpone that retirement until much later ehhh?"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Having Yaya while we were both 41 made us review our retirement plans. How about you?

Besides establishing that retirement fund (long term goal), I have a medium term goal and a short term one too.

For some, the short term goal maybe for the church building fund (that's needed by our #StFrancisChurch now)...a family vacation...a second honeymoon trip or a kitchen extension! A medium term goal can be a downpayment for that second house...a land plot...or a shoplot! Obviously, most would want a sustainable retirement fund as a long term goal! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Part 17...

Our 2 older boys (in boarding schools) are given an allowance of RM250 each monthly (mostly kept by their homeroom teacher). The eldest usually would ask for a top up before the end of the month. The second one is more prudent with his spending. Before sending them off after their fortnightly or monthly overnight stay, we usually provide them with rations. In school, they eat 6 times daily! In short, there should be some leftover of that RM250!πŸ˜“ Did I mention that I would do the handphone top ups for them too?😞

After getting them to open the GAP account, now each has to set aside a portion of that to be deposited monthly. If they don't start now, they would be difficult to coach when they have started holding their own money later. To get them excited about saving in gold, I would deposit their birthday angpau πŸ’± there too.

It sounds mundane but since financial education is not taught in school, at least it could start from home.

One of the things I want to avoid is making my eldest son pay for my second son's studies and so on and so forth. Having gone through that, I couldn't shake that "unfair" feeling because those after that did not stick to the deal.

My dad set these rules because our resources were limited. Given the opportunities with two breadwinners now in our family, that should not be an option. Fresh graduates need all the resources to build their own lives. We as parents should finish our work from procreation till the youngest's graduation!

Have you started thinking about this? It is never too late to start.

Part 20...

Many may feel RM100 monthly is too much. For some it may seem too small to make it to a "hill" as in the old Malay proverb..Sikit-sikit, lama-lama jadi bukit. This is because your savings in the form of money may lose its value in the future if there happens to be economic turbulence in our country.

But if every time you change your money to savings of physical gold (in grams) and if you understand that gold never loses its value, you would appreciate what Public Gold is doing.

Back then, when people (usually rich people) wanted to protect their wealth by buying gold, they had to order gold bars or coins from overseas. It was a tedious and expensive venture. But later on, Public Gold has made it possible for us... the regular people on the street to invest in gold as low as RM100 for about 0.5 grams of gold!

Now EVERYONE can invest in GOLD! Open your GAP account today. For more info, pm me.

SHARING WHY I CHOOSE PUBLIC GOLD (PART 1 TO PART 10)

#SharingWhyIChoosePublicGold
#StartAsSmallAsRM100Or1gMonthly

Part 1...

Have you ever gotten one lump sum of cash that you don't know how to keep to multiply? In 2011, I got an arrears of RM28k (but it all disappeared without a trace now). I bought some gold jewelleries and gold bars from a well known gold shop but the prices were inflated by high per gram rate and workmanship!

Those days, I was looking for a safe and easy way to save in gold. Easily liquidated, low buy-sell price difference (spread) and could be deposited or withdrawn online. I thought it would be great to be able to convert all my RM to grams of gold and have the choice of keeping it safe before having to handle it physically when I need it. But that is all history now...

This end of May, I stumbled upon Hafizul Hakim's blog about such kind of saving. That is how I ended up being a customer and a few days later, a dealer! Frankly, I could only afford 1 gram. But Public Gold has a facility called EPP (Easy Payment Purchase) to help me secure my dealership to gain commission from every transaction that I make by myself and those under me.

Sounds familiar, right? If you want to save right, gain some extra right and plan right...choose #PublicGold.

Part 2...

When we buy gold at a gold shop, we are charged the gold price (higher than Public Gold price) and workmanship. When we sell back, the price is cut 18-25%! We as customers ALWAYS LOSE!

At Public Gold, the difference of buy-sell price (it's called SPREAD) is low (6%). So, we don't lose much. Actually the loss is subsidized by our own commission (1% for buying, 0.3% for selling) gained from the transactions. Choose well when it comes to buying gold or investing in gold.
Be like me, choose #PublicGold.

Part 3...

I usually spent my money on groceries, bills, babysitter's service and home cleaner's service before I even thought about setting aside for savings. In the end, after unplanned spending..I didn't have any for savings anymore. I think, most of us with low to medium income are like that.

After knowing I could convert my RM to grams of gold in #PUBLICGOLD with LOW INITIAL DEPOSIT and NO CHARGE SAFE DEPOSIT FACILITY... unlike banks that offer gold investment services, I tried with 1 gram.

After that initial 1 gram, I felt excited to see the gram increase in number. Believe me! For a spendthrift like me, being "addicted" to save is a MIRACLE! Now, I see every spending in possible grams. Hence, I limit or am more selective on my spending and try to find ways to add up my grams.
Try to start small with RM100 and see what I mean. Ask me if you want to know further.

Part 4...

I get irked whenever I find coins in the washing machine tub, on the floor, under the car seats, in the bathroom sink or wherever possible for a coin to be! Kids nowadays don't care for the value of coins. I used to collect all these coins while nagging about how ungrateful the kids are and insert them into the family piggy bank. My husband too dislikes keeping coins and would just leave them on the dresser for me to collect.

Now, after opening the GAP account for all 4 kids under me..I set a challenge for them. They are to save all the coins they can find into their own piggy bank. Once the amount reaches RM100 or more, we would deposit it into their GAP account into grams of gold. Talk about killing many birds with one stone!

GAP (Gold Accumulation Programme) account under #PublicGold lets you save as low as RM100 (about 0.555 gram of gold) and later withdraw in the form of physical gold bars or dinar coins. I liken it to pinching bits of gold as we deposit every RM100.πŸ˜€

Part 5...

Coming from a family with one breadwinner made us aware of the value of my dad's salary. My mom never went to school but is a frugal wife. She would keep the balance of the monthly grocery purchase (back then, grocery shopping was done after payday). So, when my dad or us kids needed money for adhoc needs, mom was the person to go to! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Now, dad has his own pension and still gives mom her share but smaller. Both top up with earnings from their lemon and lime groves which are sold at Tamu Bandar Riyal. Mom mentioned to never look down on people who sell their produce at the tamu. They roughly earn at least RM100-200 daily. Hafizul Hakim shared about one of his customers who would deposit RM200 daily into his/ her GAP account from selling midin. How cool is that?! If a midin seller can, RM100 monthly for us with fixed income should not be a big deal...!
It is still not too late. Start now.

Part 6...

There is another challenge that I have set for my kids. We are not paying for their first house downpayment. They are to save up in gold from now on to pay for the downpayment while we survey for a property below RM200k (with 30 years mortgage, about RM600plus installments and 10% downpayment). Meanwhile, I also need to ensure my eligibility for a loan.

Who gets to his targetted amount of RM or grams first, gets to buy first. With RM1k monthly rental, he gets RM300plus as monthly income. If he is prudent, this could be achieved even when he is still studying in the tertiary level. My second son is fired up about this. πŸ˜‚

What is your goal? Discuss it with your kids. You never know that small spark could rage a fire!

Part 7...

Those who know me, know that I wear my heart on my sleeves. So, what I write here is mostly from my heart.

I think most of us have the same problems.. when we have some money to spare, we spend on "rewards" like a new pair of shoes or dress or handbag (for women). I have this tendency to hoard on cook books  and cheap but look-pricey clothes.

We Dayaks mostly spend money on food and drinks (during special events and festivals) but we don't care much about pricey trendy clothings (I am assuming this for us the middle aged and older generation). Enough to say that we have some cash to set aside for savings if we want but we lack the will and discipline..and maybe the "excitement" to save like our Chinese friends! πŸ˜ƒ I think it is time for the Dayaks to start emulating our Chinese friends! πŸ˜‚

I can assure you, once you start saving in grams of gold...you would want to keep on saving more and avoid buying unnecessary things! If you are like me, afraid of keeping physical gold...save in the GAP account until you feel like touching your targetted grams of physical gold (you can convert the GAP to physical gold).

It is Father's Day but I haven't officially wished my husband (he is snoring on the couch after a heavy breakfast just now). πŸ˜‚ But to show I love him, I opened a GAP account for him.

He is a smoker. My wish is for him to convert the money he uses for buying his cigarettes to gold savings and for him to ultimately stop smoking (since our first date, I have never ceased preaching the "Quit smoking" module). At the moment any income he gets from his monthly rental next door, goes to this GAP account. Cool, ehh? Lest he buys another drone or other expensive toys!

Another wish..maybe that could be our Vacation Fund together later!

Part 9...

When I first started working in 1999, my gross salary was RM1500plus. I had to send RM300 to my brother, Tom for his pocket money in UiTM (dad said the older sibling would help subsidise the immediate younger sibling).... RM200 went to mom and RM100 went to my sister Deborah Sian who was still studying in SM SainsKu.

I flew home to Kuching once a month (RM140 to and fro by MAS). Only on long holidays, I used the bus (RM120 to and fro). At my parent's home, I would pay for that month's grocery of about RM300. With the balance, I paid for my rental, bills and teaching aids. Looking back, I wonder how it was all possible! 😣

During school holidays, my friends were going for vacations but I spent the first half invigilating SPM or STPM. But I never had enough to save.

If you don't have family commitments.. unlike me (being the eldest of four), start a smart saving now in the form of gold. The value appreciates over time. Little by little you would accumulate a fair amount for your first house downpayment. Pm me if you are interested.

Part 10...

If you don't travel a lot, lead a simple life and have an income of less than RM5k...CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD!

I was introduced to the credit card in 2005. I had two and these brought hell into my personal finance. I am a "natural" spender, so you can imagine how life was like with the credit cards. I finally had to consult my husband and he taught me how to get myself to settle all my debts and get a clean slate. You might wonder why he didn't interfere sooner..he is the type who lets you learn through your mistakes..knowing how stubborn and adamant I could be sometimes! πŸ˜‚

Post credit card era has been blissful. Now I only spend what is in my debit card and am now learning to rein myself more. I am retiring 13 years from now, people! I don't want to be ridden with more debts! My aim before I retire is to settle all those personal loans (acquired during my ignorant 30s).

Don't be like the past me..be like the present me. The sooner you start, the sooner your wealth (what little you might have) would be protected!
